VFIPA cancels all fees for 2020, COVID 19 Response

The VFIPA Management has taken the decision to cancel all application fees for all application forms for the rest of the year 2020.

This decision was made as a part of the agency's response in support to the Vanuatu Government's efforts to support the economy through an economic stimulus package following the COVID 19 pandemic affecting the globe at present.

VFIPA fees for Annual Surveys had been waived for all businesses earlier this year when the new VFIPA Act came into effect and now all other application fees will not be applied as well.

This decision comes at a time when the majority of businesses are facing major difficulties in operations with hotels closing temporarily as dependency on tourist arrivals has been strained.

The latest destruction caused by Category 5 Cyclone Harold which wreaked havoc on Santo, Pentecost and surrounding islands in the north will mean that VFIPA's recovery efforts such as fee cancellation will be extended to assist businesses as they struggle to go back to normalcy.

VFIPA Management is closely monitoring both situations and recovery efforts and will make any announcements on any further recovery assistance in the near future.
