VFIPA Reaps Key Benefit from Involvement in ICT Digital Week 2025

Luganvill, Santo, Sanma Province – May 28, 2025 – The Vanuatu Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (VFIPA) proudly participated in the transformative Digital Week Vanuatu 2025, held at Unity Park in Luganville from May 13-16, 2025. Under the national theme “Innovation Today, Sustain Tomorrow,” VFIPA leveraged this dynamic platform to advance its mission of promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) and fostering digital transformation in Vanuatu’s growing economy. 

Digital week Vanuatu 2025, an evolution of the National ICT Days celebrated since 2012, brought together government leaders, industry pioneers, and stakeholders to explore advancements in information and communication technologies (ICT). VFIPA’s active involvement in the four-day event underscore its commitment to position Vanuatu as a hub for digital innovation and sustainable economic growth. 

During the event, the VFIPA engaged in high-impact activities discussions on e-commerce readiness, networking with global and local investors and showcasing investment opportunities in Vanuatu’s ICT sector. VFIPA Senior investment officer Lee Tabi emphasized the agency role in driving digital progress, stating, “Our participation in Digital Week 2025 has opened new avenues for collaboration with stakeholders and investors, reinforcing Santo’s potential as an economic hub of the Vanuatu. ICT is the cornerstone of our growth strategy, and we are committed to supporting related initiatives” 

Key highlight of VFIPA’s participation included: 

  • Increased Visibility: VFPA’s active participation increased its visibility among ICT stakeholders, reinforcing its role as facilitator of investment in Vanuatu’s growing ICT sector and aligning with the event’s theme, “Innovation today, sustain tomorrow.” 
  • Stronger Stakeholder Relationships: By engaging with local entrepreneurs, foreign investors and government officials, VFIPA built valuable networks to support future FDI initiatives in ICT and other sectors. 
  • Support for Policy Goals: The event allowed VFIPA to advance its alignment with national decentralization policies, promoting Luganville as an investment hub and strengthening its regional presence. 
  • Opportunities for ICT Innovation: VFIPA gained insights into emerging ICT trends and technologies, which will inform its strategies to attract tech-focused investors to Vanuatu. 

The event’s focus on gender equality in digital transformation resonated with VFIPA’s goals of inclusive economic development. By promoting ICT as a catalyst for growth, VFIPA aims to ensure that all communities in Vanuatu benefit from digital progress, particularly in Luganville, which has seen significant FDI growth in recent years.
