Vanuatu Made Event Highlights Innovation and Creativity 25-27 September 2024
Port Vila, Vanuatu - The Vanuatu Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (VFIPA) proudly participated in the Vanuatu Made event, which took place from 25th to 27th September 2024. Hosted by the Department of Industry, the event showcased the theme, “Enhancing Creativity and Innovation of Vanuatu Made: Adapting to the Trending Business Environment.”
The three-day event brought together participants from all six provinces, from Torba to Tafea, who travelled to Port Vila to exhibit their creative talents. Local artisans displayed handmade products, including woven items, locally sourced animal products, and other value-added goods presented in professional packaging. Artists also showcased traditional designs and crafts, passed down through generations, with vibrant painting and sewing displays reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Vanuatu.
VFIPA set up a booth at the event, featuring a variety of locally manufactured products made possible through Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Companies such as Tucker Vanuatu, which produces Tusker Beer, Vanuatu Beverage with its line of soft drinks (Splash), Tanna Coffee, and 83 Islands Distillery were among the highlights. These enterprises have successfully met international standards for labelling and packaging, allowing their goods to be exported abroad with the support of the Department of Industry, VFIPA, and other government agencies.
The VFIPA booth attracted a wide range of visitors, with the agency emphasizing the crucial role of FDI in supporting Vanuatu’s economic growth. Through partnerships with foreign investors, the development of local industries has contributed significantly to improving the livelihoods of the people and enhancing skills across the workforce.
As the gateway for FDI, VFIPA also used the event to promote joint venture opportunities, encouraging local entrepreneurs to explore partnerships with foreign investors to enhance product development. In response to the dynamic business environment, VFIPA proudly highlighted the agency’s achievement of going paperless, with all applications now being submitted and paid for online. This milestone aligns with the National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP) and reinforces the agency's commitment to driving innovation and efficiency within the investment landscape.
