COVID-19 Vaccines

The Government of Vanuatu is working hard to make sure that vaccines of covid-19 will be a priority for all given the critical time everyone is going through. By strengthening the national measure, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has approved vaccine for Vanuatu, and getting ready to roll out according to its deployment plan which will be confirm in the coming months once the vaccine arrives. The country has registered and working closely with the COVAX, following its approvals, on the development of the vaccine, that will be suitable for the climate and with minimal side effects to the people.

The Ministry of Health, together with major donors such as Australia Aid in providing funds specifically for the covid -19 vaccines. The vaccine rollout will first target 20% of the population, frontline workers at border control, the health workers, the elderly of 60 years upward and then the rest of the age grouping starting from the children, women and men. The Vanuatu Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (VFIPA) also support the government in taking the initiative to work on process, securing COVID-19 vaccines which will play a critical role in protecting everyone health and wellbeing. Vanuatu will continue to maintain tighter control on all borders to make sure that everyone is safe until the vaccine is receive for everyone to get vaccinated.
