Our Mandate
We serve as the primary point of contact for foreign investors looking to establish a presence in Vanuatu and its outer islands, regardless of the size of their investment. We welcome walk-in inquiries and offer prompt, real-time responses via email and telephone. Our team provides tailored information on Vanuatu’s economic landscape and key industries. Through strong partnerships with government agencies, the private sector, and business communities, we can connect you with relevant companies, associations, local communities, and professional consultants.
Our history
- In 1998, the Vanuatu Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (VFIPA) become a corporate body and operating under the Ministry of Trade and Commerce (MTC).
- In 2009, business start-up processes and requirements have been streamlined of which VIPA's foreign investment application approval process was one.
- In 2019, we have a new foreign investment legislation "Act n0.25 of 2019" replacing the foreign investment act [CAP 248]

Annual Reports
Each year, VFIPA publishes an annual report detailing its activities and the challenges faced, in accordance with the Foreign Investment Act No. 25 of 2019. The report provides valuable insights into the progress of VFIPA’s initiatives and the trends and characteristics of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vanuatu.
