Preliminary Launch of Vanuatu eBusiness Link to Streamline Business Startup Registration
PORT VILA, Vanuatu, 9 August 2026:
The Vanuatu Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (VFIPA), in joint collaboration with the Department of Customs and Inland Revenue (DCIR) and the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC), has successfully held the soft launch of eBusiness Link Vanuatu, a new digital platform designed to simplify and speed up business registration in Vanuatu. The launch took place at the Ramada Hotel conference room, 10th August 2026 bringing together representatives from all three partner agencies together with system developers, ZestIT. In his opening remarks, VFIPA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Raymond Vuti described the initiative as part of the government's broader priority to improve the ease of doing business in Vanuatu, particularly in relation to how new businesses are registered and processed.
eBusiness Link Vanuatu allows investors to submit a single business registration application that is simultaneously accessible to VFIPA, DCIR and VFSC, replacing a process that previously required separate submissions to each agency and often left investors waiting several days for approvals to be finalised across all three. By linking the three systems, the platform is expected to significantly reduce processing times and give investors a clearer, more predictable path from application to approval.
This soft launch marks the beginning of a trial period of several months, during which the three agencies will work closely with the system developer, Zest, to test the platform, refine workflows and ensure that existing agency systems and requirements are fully compatible with the new platform based on customers feedback before a wider rollout.
CEO Raymond acknowledged the contribution of each partner agency in working with the developer to align their respective systems, noting that the collaboration reflects the kind of coordinated, whole of government approach needed to make lasting improvements to Vanuatu's investment climate.
"This trial is an important first step. It shows what is possible when agencies work together with a single goal in mind: making it easier for investors and businesses to operate in Vanuatu," CEO Raymond said.
The three partner agencies have also encouraged other government agencies, including the Department of Labour, the Department of Immigration and VNPF, to consider joining the system as it develops, in order to further widen the range of approvals that investors and businesses can complete through a single platform.
eBusiness Link Vanuatu supports the Vanuatu Government's ongoing efforts to improve the country's investment climate and reflects VFIPA's continued work, alongside its government partners, to respond to feedback from investors and businesses on the time and complexity involved in regulatory approvals.
The Vanuatu eBusiness Link committee acknowledges the support and commitment from ZetsIT in this project and future possibilities this platform can include, for example the locally owned businesses. ZestIT is a New Zealand-based company
and is well known in Vanuatu for its work in IT systems development. The project committee also acknowledges PacerPlus for funding support to the development of the Vanuatu eBusiness Link and Vanuatu PPIU for the on-ground coordinated support provided. The committee looks forward to a stronger collaboration and support in future proposals.
