The New Zealand Pacific Business Council promotes and facilitates business, trade, and foreign direct investment between Aotearoa New Zealand and Pacific Island countries and territories. This is the first-ever business forum in Vanuatu, marking a major step forward in strengthening economic partnerships across the Pacific region. The historic event brings together key stakeholders from Aotearoa New Zealand and Vanuatu, with the aim of deepening trade, foreign direct investment, and business collaboration.
As a business platform that promotes and facilitates business, trade, and foreign direct investment between New Zealand and Vanuatu, the NZPBC sees this forum as a pivotal opportunity to foster stronger bilateral and regional business relationships, including exploring new investment pathways, and to support sustainable economic growth demand and share insights on challenge and innovations in doing business in Vanuatu. The business forum attracts speakers from the investment sectors to financial institutions, private sectors, and regional development agencies.
Among the guest speakers includes Mr. Raymond Vuti, Chief Executive Officer of the Vanuatu Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (VFIPA). During his presentation, Mr. Raymond highlighted New Zealand’s growing role in Vanuatu, identifying it as one of the key sources of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Vanuatu specifically on thematic theme ‘Doing Business in Vanuatu’
"New Zealand continues to demonstrate strong investment interest in the Vanuatu along with its other competitive components which is Australia and China," said Mr. Raymond. "Our business and government partnerships with New Zealand are not only expanding trade but also fostering sustainable economic development across critical sectors specifically in the energy sector, including other economic sectors as well. This is part of the agency proactive engagement in the facilitation role assisting investors from the beginning to the end of the investment journey in Vanuatu.
VFIPA is honoured to have been part of this important forum and to initiate discussions with the NZPBC team to conduct the first ever business forum in Vanuatu. This collaboration aligns with our strategic partnership commitment to creating avenues to attract sustainable foreign direct investment into Vanuatu.
