On 31 December 2019, the Government of China reported a cluster of cases of pneumonia of unknown cause in Wuhan, Hubei
Province. A novel coronavirus was identified in January 2020. Since then, cases have been reported in other parts of China and
189 other countries or territories. On 30 January 2020, the WHO Director-General declared the COVID-19 outbreak a Public
Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). On 11 March 2020, a Global Pandemic was declared.
